Hi! I’ve been a girl on the go as of late, and as someone who generally prefers being home over all else, I’ve been surprisingly enjoying it. I popped into New York to spend some time with two of my very best friends before we’re all off for the holidays. So we’re back after a quick weekend to share the links and the details.
I arrived Thursday afternoon just in time to grab a quick lunch and make my way over to SoHo for a haircut. I wore something very boring, but I’m sharing it to, one, reiterate how much I love these pants and, two, because sometimes I feel the ultra-casual, errands type outfits are the ones we need more inspo for. They’re what I spend the majority of my time in, and I’d still like to try to make them somewhat cute! Though, of course, I’m saying all this without a picture to share, so this will have to do:

If you wanted to make the look less sporty, you could swap in a pant like this and a dressier shoe.
Post haircut, I ran back home for a quick change before an early dinner and a Still Here party to celebrate the release of their new annual calendar.
I wore a very special piece that belonged to my mom before I (permanently) borrowed it a few years ago— a fur-lined denim jacket she bought in the 90s. I paired it with vintage Levi’s, my trusty Nobilis boots, and a Liffner Pushlock Crossbody.
Friday! A day of meetings and showroom visits.

My day started at LESET in the West Village to meet the team there and see the collection in person.

I tried on several pieces and I’d like to add each one to my closet as soon as possible, thank you very much! Though instead, I left with just one thing… the Kyoto Carpenter Pant. It took priority over the others because I could see myself wearing them to the beach for my upcoming trip, and I needed to see that vision realized. The rest will have to wait until the new year and will be especially useful once I sink deeper into hibernation.
From there, I went straight to a meeting, followed by a lunch date, before heading to the AFLALO showroom on Greene Street. The space is just as beautiful as I imagined and the clothes are even harder to resist in person.
There wasn’t one piece in there that I wouldn’t love to have in my closet, but I want to focus on the denim for a sec because it’s some of my favourite out there. The cut, the shape, the quality, the length… every detail has been perfectly executed.

If you’ve been after the look of vintage Levis but don’t want to deal with the fuss of finding the right pair, the Orwell Jean is your answer. It has a comparable look to vintage denim, just more elevated. The denim is rigid (still comfortable!), mid-rise, straight leg, long inseam… 10/10. I like to size up one for a looser fit, which, at this point, is becoming my true size because I’m almost never not sizing up.
Onward. I bumbled around a bit more until it was time for an early dinner.
Saturday.
The morning was spent simply: breakfast, a walk, coffee (ideal!) before making my way uptown for the day. Captured in a very subpar manner, here’s what I wore:
A beautiful dark navy Raglan Sleeve Turtleneck from DHOEMI I put on for the first time and immediately knew that it would become a go-to piece for me. Same for the Bend Tee I had on underneath. As for the rest of the outfit, I wore dark wash denim, loafers, a long belted coat, a charcoal grey scarf, leather gloves, and I was ready to go. Some highlights from the day included a stop at the Guggenheim.
And also one at Sotheby’s, where I swooned over many beautiful things.
And of course, a bit of shopping around.
We kept the dinners early this weekend because two of my girlfriends are pregnant and tired— fine by me; I’m a sleepy girl too, though I have no excuse. Anyways, I rushed back downtown for a very quick shower, a change, and then off to dinner.

Sunday: another morning spent exactly like the day before, just slightly abbreviated, and then I was off to the airport for a late morning flight. It was a quickie!
Until next week xx
