First week of March, and there’s finally hope of spring in the air. The days are getting longer, the weather is warming up, and it feels like we’re all starting to see the light at the end of a long, cold tunnel.
Now that February is officially behind us, I thought we could get into my favourites from the past month. There are some items that are new to me, but also a few that are a return to previously loved things. Isn’t rediscovering something you already own the best?
I’ve noticed a pattern where I fixate on a single pair of denim in my closet for a few weeks at a time. This month it’s been the somewhat newly launched Still Here Life Jean. As the name suggests, they’re kind of the perfect jean for everyday life. They’re structured but also have a lived-in feel that makes them really easy to wear. The true straight leg and mid-rise make them so versatile, and the cherry on top is that they’re very comfortable.
Another newly launched item I’ve been reaching for a lot is the RLT Cotton Cashmere t-shirt. I really like a cotton-cashmere blend when my t-shirt will be exposed (under a sweater or button-up that’s left open, for example), and the fit of this one is perfect.

Perhaps my ultimate favourite of February (and January too, for that matter) has been Negative’s Whipped Fabric. Specifically the Boy Short, Long Sleeve, and Track Pant— truly, I don’t think I’ve ever felt a softer fabric, and wearing all three to bed feels like the ultimate luxury. I sized up in both the long sleeve and track pant because I like a looser fit for bed.
Button-ups! They make getting dressed feel so easy, which by this point in the winter is really all I’m going for. I’ve been favouring WNU’s The Classic shirt in a perfect plaid and the oversized cotton shirt from Almina Concept.
A large majority of last month’s looks were completed with Summer Fridays’ new lip stain… I’m very obsessed, and a hoop. I wore this pair from David Yurman a lot in February. I’ve had them for years— they’re great daily drivers.

More Beauty Fixations

I’ll never not have a lip balm recommendation— this one is amazing; balmy and soothing. My jaw was on the floor after using Filament for the first time. Hair has never felt so soft. This is the first eye cream I’ve tried in a while that stacks up to my tried and true. I like it for the morning because it’s less balmy. How did I forget how much I love Baby Cheeks!? One of the best cream blushes of all time. Lastly, a really great face mask for when you feel like you need a reset. I always use it post air travel.

Unfortunately I did not enjoy most of what I read in February (even though I somewhat painfully forced myself to finish— why do I do that?), but I did very much enjoy one book last month: Heart the Lover. It was sweet, sad, and contemplative. I really love the way Lily King writes.
Some movies I enjoyed in February: Zach and I worked our way through a few more of the Best Picture nominees—Bugonia, Hamnet, and Marty Supreme. All fantastic. Otherwise, we watched C’mon C’mon and loved it. Oh, and I’ve also been watching Love Story, of course.
Florals. For me, fresh flowers are an instant mood booster, and for that reason I oblige myself to pick some up weekly. This becomes particularly important in the drearier months of winter. The selection is never quite as exciting though, so I always return to my forever favourite: tulips.

What shade do you use in the lip stain?
