There’s a quote floating around the internet that goes something like, ‘If you’re interested in developing your personal style, be interested in more than just fashion.’ That perfectly sums up Laura Pleitéz Rifkin, creator of 91 Lane and a never-ending source of inspiration. Whether it’s architecture, literature, art, film, fashion, or food, Laura has her finger on the pulse—so when I asked her to share her current Top 10, I knew she wouldn’t disappoint.
Keep reading for Laura’s 10 favorite things of the moment, in her own words.
1. The Row Park Tote Medium in Black Nubuck
I heavily debated between this version or the Belted Suede Tote from Toteme for over a year. My patience… okay fine, my indecisiveness FINALLY paid off, and I pulled the trigger when this one went on sale at SSENSE. I’m happy to report that I’m pleased with my decision! This looks and feels structured; therefore, it gives my outfits a more refined look! I haven’t stopped wearing it—it’s perfectly sized (not overwhelming) and fits plenty. The easy access makes for a good everyday bag, but it can also be worn for nighttime. I also love that the interior is all black, so although the bag is wide open, the black discreetly camouflages my belongings.
I had noticed that all the cool girls have this in their vanities (and with good reason), but I didn’t have a need for it until my sister-in-law had a minor burn on her face last summer. We were on the hunt for a cream to help aid her wound, so I ended up recommending this one purely based on great reviews. Her face healed almost immediately! I ended up getting my own this year because my skin was feeling so dry and nothing was working—I immediately thought of this cream. Although this was initially designed as a cream to treat burns and scars, it’s also great for people with irritated or sensitive skin. It’s super hydrating. Also, accidents happen ALL the time, so I think it’s just good to have on hand.
I’ve been getting my jeans from Jeanius Shop like clockwork since 2022, and although they make some of my favorite jeans, I got an incredible pair from RLT that I can’t put down. I’ve always liked Jeanius because I can measure myself at home without trying on a million pairs just to figure out the right fit, but RLT has such an amazing curated selection that trying on her jeans feels fun rather than exhausting!
4. Mulino Bianco Galletti Cookies
When I was little, my grandma and I used to share an afternoon coffee with some sort of sweet bread. I think that’s why I’m a sucker for sweet breads, shortbread cookies, and, in this case, Italian biscuits—it’s in my nature. These cookies, in particular, melt right in your mouth, and I haven’t been able to put them down.
5. Cy Twombly: Five Day Wait at Jiayuguan
I bought this book back in early February via the Gagosian website. Cy Twombly is one of my favorite artists of all time, so I immediately added it to my cart—there were only 500 copies. This book was also published in honor of the exhibition at Gagosian in New York. It’s a little piece of art I wanted to add to my book collection, and I’ve been loving leafing through it.
6. Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick
I’m not a foundation girl, but when I do dabble, I like for my skin to show. I’ve been loving this foundation stick—it’s so easy to apply. I pair it with the foundation brush, and it goes on seamlessly and feels very light.
To put it simply: the best shoe purchase I’ve ever made. Super versatile, comfortable, and easy to slip on. Practical for the girls who run late yet want to feel chic with very little effort.
I was sort of forced to buy a new laptop after my old one gave up on me after seven years. As silly as this may sound, my life has changed. This laptop is SO fast (I had no idea what I was missing out on). I also love the look of it. If I’m not busy with work, I’ll try to find ways to keep occupied so that I can use it—it has kept me productive.
9. Crown Affair Clips in Malachite
I’m a big fan of their clips, but lately, I’ve been reaching for this colorway non-stop. If you’re new to Crown Affair clips, they’re so popular because they hold your hair really well due to the additional teeth in between.
10. LE VOLUME DE CHANEL Mascara in Brun
Brown mascara is all I wear during the day—I like that it gives me a softer, more natural look, perfect for daytime. I’ve tried other brown mascaras, and this is by far the winner in color.
